It’s a once and a lifetime opportunity, I’m never going to get it again. All the hard work has paid off – when I found out I won I was absolutely speechless.

The project is in its 14th successful year and is a highlight of our education programme and for the second year running, we are working with Jagriti Theatre, Bangalore.
During 2011 we worked with 5 London primary schools and 4 schools in India, delivering two workshops in each school, with professional actors, encouraging children to value playwriting as challenging, stimulating and fun.
As part of the programme, participants are invited to write a short play of around 5 minutes and enter it into the competition.
Each year we receive in the region of 200 plays. Some of the best and most representative of last year’s plays were professionally produced at Soho Theatre and at Jagriti Theatre to an audience of the participating students. Public performances of the work took place in Bangalore in June and in London in July 2011.
