We need to talk about Ageing: How and when do we start a conversation with family and friends about the realities of growing older and mortality?

A panel discussion featuring leading psychologists and researchers working in the field of ageing and care, chaired by BBC Journalist Yasmin Alibhai-Brown:

Sue Adams OBE – Chief Executive of Care & Repair England.

Pippa Kelly – activist and campaigner for dementia and old age care.

Susan Hennessy – clinical psychologist in palliative care for Barts NHS trust.

Dr Daniel Davies – senior researcher in Geriatric Medicine. He works as a Clinical Research Fellow at the MRC Unit of Lifelong Health and Ageing at UCL.

Dr Jane Fleming – co-ordinated the Cambridge City over-75s Cohort Study, the longest-running of several population-based studies of ageing run from the Public Health, Ageing and the Brain research group at the Cambridge Institute of Public Health.

Following their hugely successful panel discussion ‘Old Age is for the Brave’ at the Southbank Centre’s WOW Festival 2017. Inspector Sands have programmed a series of discussions and panel debates inspired by their production The Lounge. Taking place during the run at Soho Theatre, ‘Beyond The Lounge’ aims to further explore some of the most pressing issues of our time.
