The Oxford School of Drama presents ISLANDERS – two new plays, ‘Cladach’ by Caitlin Shannon and ‘Cousins’ by Matt Parvin

“That very night in Max’s room a forest grew and grew – and grew until his ceiling hung with vines and the walls became the world all around and an ocean tumbled by with a private boat for Max and he sailed off through night and day and in and out of weeks and almost over a year to where the wild things are…” from Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak, Harper & Row, 1963

Two plays. Two islands. Two groups of people strive and struggle to coexist.

In their unique and remote environments their emotions swell, as they battle both inner and outer demons. At our core, we humans might be tribal animals, but we must learn the art of living together if we don’t want to die alone.
