Creating Characters

Colin Teevan and Lucy Pitman-Wallace

Playwright Colin Teevan with director Lucy Pitman-Wallace explores the creation of  stage character. Working from Colin’s version of the classic tale of Iphigenia, Iph… (published by Oberon), the workshop will explore the interplay between narrative, plot and character.

All participants are asked to have read the play before the workshop, and to bring with them a character they would like to work on in the form of a short, written character study.

How do we write great women characters?

April de Angelis

How do we write great women characters? Find a great female story. How do we access them? A look at female passion.

Please bring a story with a central female character that you have found in a newspaper. This will be a practical workshop.

These workshops are open to writers who are currently working on submissions for the Brave New Roles award and writers who want to have the opportunity to learn more in a small group with two of our leading contemporary playwrights.

Sponsored by Oberon Books.

Please note that numbers are strictly limited to 20 for each workshop.
