
Joan O'Cleary
Joan has previously designed costumes for Rough Magic’s production of Copenhagen. She has worked as Costume Designer on numerous Abbey and Peacock Theatre productions including, most recently, Drama at Innis, Hamlet, The Importance of Being Earnest, A Dolls House, Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme, The Gigli Concert, The Dandy Dolls, The Shaughraun, The Burial at Thebes, The Shape of Metal, The Wild Duck, The House of Bernarda Alba, All My Sons, Ariel, The Drawer Boy, the five plays of The Murphy Festival and Lolita (Best Costume Design, 2002 Irish Times/ESB Theatre Awards). Other designs include the Gate Theatre’s Pinter Festival (Best Costume Design, 1997 Irish Times/ESB Theatre Awards); Peer Gynt (National Theatre, London) and Toupees and Snaredrums, The Rite of Spring and Swept (CoisCéim).
