access facilities

Soho Theatre aims to make the venue and programme as accessible as possible to the broadest audiences.

*The auditorium has an infra-red system with 5 headsets. If you require a headset, please inform box office at time of booking.
*Guide dogs can be brought into the auditorium or left with Soho Theatre staff. The theatre can accommodate 2 guide dogs per performance.
*Main auditorium can accommodate 7 wheelchairs on the front row. Seating is unreserved, but if you have specific access requirements, seats can be reserved in any area. Please inform box office when booking.

*There is a wheelchair accessible toilet on the ground, second and third floor of the theatre.

*Cafe Lazeez licensed bar, brasserie and restaurant is on the ground floor. The Terrace Bar for pre show drinks is on second floor.

*An audio described performance is programmed for every Soho Theatre production.

*A British Sign Language Interpreted performance is programmed for every Soho Theatre production.

*Captioning is a way of converting the spoken word into visible text which makes it possible for people with varying degrees of hearing loss to have access to live performances. The caption unit is usually placed centrally towards the back of the set to allow the deaf, deafened or hard of hearing patron to have the play and unit in their complete field of vision.

The actors’ words appear on the unit, or units, on or near the stage at the same time as they are spoken or sung. Also included in the captioning is the speaker’s name, music, sound effects and any off stage noises.

Captioned performances have been found to also benefit foreign visitors, young people and students who are studying the play or learning to speak English.

Access at Soho Theatre is supported by Diana Toeman, Bruce Wake Charitable Trust, The City Bridge Trust and The Rose Foundation.
