Mon 30 November 2015

2015 WINNER Comics’ Choice Award, Melbourne Comedy Festival
Soho Theatre Upstairs. Monday 4 – Saturday 16 January 2016

PRESS NIGHT: Wednesday 6 January 2016, 7pm. Duration: 60mins

One of Australia’s most exciting new stand up and character comedians, Anne ‘Eddo’ Edmonds is making her London debut with You Know What I’m Like at Soho Theatre, 4 –16 January 2016.

…Unaffected charm and sheer comic brilliance. ★★★★1/2 Herald Sun, 2015

Eddo arrives following a stellar 2015 in Australia, which saw her sell out shows, score rave reviews and also walk away with the highly-coveted, Comics’ Choice award, the Piece of Wood award, at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Obsessed with what’s going on beneath the surface of people’s seemingly normal lives, including her own, You Know What I’m Like is a dark comedy about the people who inhabit sunny, middle Australia and the strain of appearing sane.

She has never been better or darker or more resolutely funny. ★★★★1/2 Daily Review, 2015

Bursting on to the comedy scene in 2010 as a national finalist in Australian comic talent search Raw Comedy, Anne has performed to sell-out crowds on the Australian comedy festival circuit and Edinburgh Festival Fringe, she has received invitations to perform at the 34th Seattle International Comedy Competition, New York Comedy Festival and Just For Laughs at the Sydney Opera House. She also supported US podcast and comedy superstar Marc Maron on his Australian tour last month.

Her honesty adds to her wiles, dissolving the fourth wall and charming us even when she’s being savagely beastly about her victims. Chortle, 2015

Off stage, she has also taken her characters, songs and worldview to the small screen having been seen on Australian TV shows including ABC TV’s Dirty Laundry Live, Backseat Driver, It’s A Date, Wednesday Night Fever and most recently Network Ten’s ‘Have You Been Paying Attention?’.
