‘It's one of the most passionate, smart, hilarious hours on the Fringe, packed with so many absurd one-liners that it's impossible to stop laughing, even as your brain buzzes with fury at the story she relates.’
The Guardian
An award-winning comedy writer (South Park, Brass Eye and The Fast Show) and celebrity journalist for The Times, In Style and Glamour, Jane Bussmann tells a true story about inane celebrities, a Ugandan guerilla leader and an A-level failure from Muswell Hill borders trying to seduce a White House Director of African Affairs.
Bussmann's Holiday tells how interviewing celebrities drove her increasingly insane, until one day she snapped. Jane abandoned Hollywood to go looking for romance and a good time in a dangerous war zone, following in the footsteps of the sexiest peacemaker in the world. Strangely, things didn’t go according to plan.
Directed by renowned comedy actress Sally Phillips (BAFTA-winners I’m Alan Partridge, Green Wing; Bridget Jones’ Diary and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason; and Emmy-winner Smack the Pony) this is a story about running away,
shocking corruption and frozen yogurt.
‘Very funny. Jane’s got a death wish.’
Matt Stone, South Park
‘The polar opposite of Jeremy Clarkson sitting on
an orphan and laughing.’
Chris Morris, Brass Eye
Bussmann’s Holiday comes direct to Soho after sell out seasons at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh, Los Angeles and New York.
Nominated for the Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award.
Winner of The Tap Water Award 2006 for best Edinburgh comedy.
